MISSION
Angola Volunteer Fire Company
Mission Statement
The
mission of the Angola
Volunteer Fire Company
is to provide excellent fire
and rescue services to our community by a dedicated team
of volunteer firefighters.
Our
volunteer firefighters are committed to continuing our
tradition of excellence in an ever changing world with
increasing challenges and expectations by maintaining
our training and performance objectives at a level that
promotes proficiency and incorporates national fire
service standards.
We
will serve to invigorate and fortify the spirit
of volunteerism in the
Angola Volunteer Fire Company
by allowing each member of
the company to maintain His/Hers individual identity
that complements our organizational goal of continuous
self-improvement.
Having
honorably served the community with dedication and
enthusiasm for nearly One Hundred & Thirty years
(2012), we will continue to identify and support
department goals and objectives that will result in
continuous improvement of the high quality fire and
rescue services we are required to deliver.

Company Profile
|
We operate out of 2 stations that
protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public
department whose members are on a volunteer status.
We are a
small company that protects the
Angola Village Proper
(around 1
square mile), plus the surrounding Angola Fire District. We run
3 Engines including a Ladder Company. Our main rig is our
Rescue/Tanker/Pumper. From it we can run Vehicle Extrication,
and Structure Attack. We have a full Advanced Life Support
Ambulance with a dedicated crew. The EMS squad represents about
90% of our calls. Although our district is small, there’s a lot
to do. Main Street is full of old, multiple story structures,
and the side roads are full of houses. We also have a few
schools within our district and a High-school and Vo-Tech campus
on the edge of the district that we protect along with the Evans
Center Vol. Fire Co. and the Lake Erie Beach Vol. Fire Co. We
also have a good deal of commerce. Right in the middle of the
district is
Goya Foods
and Bison
Canning. A few blocks away is The Durrion Filtration Systems
building and on the other side of the Village is
Flex-0-Vit USA.
And of course, we can’t forget the rail traffic...but that's
another story. The Angola Fire Dept. was also one of the first
departments in the state to begin the process of earning New
York State Certification in Confined Space Search and Rescue.
